Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 0.5 frozen banana
  • 0.25 cup plain Greek or coconut yogurt For dairy-free, use coconut yogurt.
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds (optional) Optional for extra thickness.

Equipment

  • 1 blender

Method

Blend the smoothie
  1. Add the almond milk to the blender first, then add the frozen mixed berries, frozen banana, and yogurt. Blend ingredients together before adding sweeteners so everything hydrates evenly.
  2. Add the honey, vanilla extract, and chia seeds if using. Use the exact amounts to keep the smoothie thick but blendable.
  3. Blend on high for 45–60 seconds, until completely smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed. The visual cue is no visible berry chunks and a uniform purple-pink color.
  4. Add a splash more almond milk if the smoothie is too thick to blend easily. Blend again briefly on high until it reaches a pourable, creamy consistency.
  5. Pour into a glass and serve immediately for the best texture. Aim for a thick but drinkable smoothie that holds a smooth surface sheen.

Notes

For best texture, use frozen fruit and blend right away—chia can thicken the smoothie as it sits. Store leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge up to 24 hours; stir or blend again with a splash of almond milk to loosen. Freezing isn’t recommended because the texture can become grainy after thawing. Dairy swap: use coconut yogurt instead of Greek yogurt for a fully dairy-free smoothie.
