Ingredients

cream cheese
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
unsalted butter
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
powdered sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
white funfetti cake mix (dry)
  • 0.5 cup white funfetti cake mix (dry)
red, white, and blue sprinkles
  • 0.33 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles divided
graham crackers, sliced apples, or strawberries
  • 1 graham crackers, sliced apples, or strawberries for serving

Equipment

  • 1 stand mixer

Method

Make the funfetti dip
  1. Beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  2. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then beat until fully combined and creamy.
  3. Fold in the dry white funfetti cake mix until no streaks remain, which thickens the dip and boosts the funfetti flavor.
  4. Gently fold in half of the red, white, and blue sprinkles, reserving the rest for topping.
Serve
  1. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and top with the remaining sprinkles.
  2. Serve immediately with graham crackers, sliced apples, or strawberries, or chill in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Notes

Pro tip: make sure the cream cheese and butter are fully softened for a smooth, lump-free base before you add the cake mix. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days (do not freeze for best texture). If you want a lighter version, use reduced-fat cream cheese and swap in a no-sugar-added vanilla cake mix for a similar flavor with less sugar.
